Radiance Of The Seas Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship Review

Radiance Of The Seas Is the first of Royal Caribbean’s Radiance class ships. The Radiance Of The Seas Sister ships include the Brilliance of the Seas and Serenade of the Seas cruise ships but Radiance Of The Seas Is Still My Favorite.

The Radiance of the Seas is a Panamax ship meaning it is the largest a vessel can be and still fit through the Panama Canal, in fact, as it goes through the locks the bow extends far beyond the lock gates and the side decks extend over the shoreline with only one foot of room on each side of the ship.

Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Seas has recently been sailing to Alaska, Hawaii, Australia and the South Pacific but its itinerary is subject to change at any time.

The Radiance underwent a 19 million dollar upgrade in 2011 where they installed flat panel TV’s in all staterooms and created a number of new dining options including.

Boardwalk Dog House which serves hot dogs and sausages, brats with a variety of toppings. This is complimentary so it makes it great for a snack – as if you ever need one on a cruise.

Giovanni’s Table Italian restaurant. The cover charge is about $20 for dinner.

Izumi Asian restaurant featuring a sushi bar and h ot rock cooking. The cover is only about $5 for dinner and $3 for lunch. I am sad to see this replacing the seaview cafe which was complimentary. Also this is in an almost hidden area of the ship that few people seem to ever find. Up high in the back near the mini golf area.

Rita’s Cantina Mexican restaurant featuring live guitar music at night. The cover is very reasonable, about $3-$5.

Samba Grill Brazillian steakhouse. You can choose a variety of meats like seafood, chicken, beef etc that is brought to your table and is all you can eat. The cover is about $25 per person but is worth it if you’re a carnivore.

Chef’s Table is an upscale experience co-hosted by the Chef and Sommelier for a wine pairing 5-course dinner. This is a bit pricey at $95 per person but people who have tried it say it’s worth it and its great for special occasions or at least to try once during your cruise.

This video is an original work created from Photos I took while sailing aboard the Radiance of the Seas on a Panama Canal cruise from Ft Lauderdale Florida to San Diego California. Titles and effects were created with video editing software on my computer.

The Radiance of the Seas is a great ship. Although it is not as big as the new shopping mall ships or mega ships it feels huge when you’re on it. I especially liked the Glass Elevators facing the sea.

The Radiance also went through a 19 million dollar upgrade that increased dining options flat panel TV’s in staterooms and a large LED video wall by the main pool.

The Radiance of the Seas is a beautiful ship. It has been freshened and improved in a major revitalization done in Victoria British Columbia. Royal Caribbean has some larger ships but the Radiance Class Ships are amazing on their own and some people actually prefer them over the shopping mall ships.
