Carnival Ecstasy Cruise Review Video – Symone Redmond

Be sure to check out the video I’ve created about my Carnival Ecstasy Junior Suite cabin! — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5UAnXgnbUQ

I decided to do a review/pros and cons video of my experience aboard Carnival Ecstasy. I traveled to Nassau, the Bahamas for the duration of my 4-night cruise. (June 1 – 5, 2017). I did not partake in any of the clubs that ship has so I cannot speak about that. And I also cannot speak about the swimming pool or the jacuzzies and the experience I had with them either.

Let me know your thoughts below about this video or your experiences aboard this same ship. I’d love to hear them in the comments below.

I don’t understand why you would base your decision not cruise with carnival cruise line off one carnival cruise experience.

Lyfe With Niique says:

Hi…quick question! Do they have atms on the ship?

Crystal Johnson says:

Hi Symone have you look at the MSC Cruises. I just found about MSC Cruises the other day. I am torn between Royal Caribbean and MSC now. A new MSC ship (Seaside) is coming to Miami December 2017. Let me know what you think about MSC cruises.

Hey I wanted to let you know that you should try another Carnival Cruise. I’ve been on 3 different ships and I’ve never experienced anything like this. Every time we’ve had an amazing time. Try the Carnival Vista

Mary Faith says:

Thank you for the info. I was considering this ship and very glad to find out that you felt a lot of motion. this will be my husbands first cruise and looking for a ship that is fun, has a lot to do and will not feel a lot of motion. Any recommendations?

MrsVHolmes says:

Girl, i just booked with ecstasy I’m second guessing.. this is my first cruise tho.. I’ve never heard anything bad about this cruise until i came across your video.. I’m nervous lol

Felicia Dyer says:

Symone, the good news is that every cruise you have from now on will be better than this one. We, too, were on the Ecstasy in April 2017 and it was not a good cruise. Carnival is a decent brand, but the newer ships are much better. Our worst cruise ever (even worse than this one) was on Carnival. But our 2nd best cruise ever was also on a Carnival ship, so there ya go.

I think you might love Princess or Holland America. The prices are about the same, but the quality is many times that of Royal and Carnival. You sacrifice some of the night life and endless entertainment, but the service, suites and food are more like a luxury cruise line (think Regent, Crystal, etc).

Susan Small says:

Just got back from sailing on the Ecstacy. I must say, I too was not impresssed with this ship. The smell was real. You’re description was correct….smelled like a public restroom. The food on this ship was terrible. When sitting on the deck they had live music sporatically for about 3 hours during the day then there was nothing to listen to. I was truly disappointed!! However, earlier this year I cruised on The Vista and The Dream and they were both very nice ships and there was a lot to do on both. IJS… Don’t rule out Carnival all together…

Good review! Do you think the new boats would be better?

Luke Begames says:

The smell was from the gas i experienced this on the splendor ship

OCDCruiser says:

Thank you for the honest review. I’ve sailed Norwegian and Carnival. I prefer Carnival. One day I’d like to sail Royal, but they’re usually much more expensive for us to afford. We are booked on the Ecstasy in 2019 out of Charleston mostly because of the ports of call on that route and because we can avoid a one- night hotel stay and airfare for two people to Florida, and just drive 5 hours to Charleston. I would definitely recommend trying a newer Carnival ship — Dream, Breeze, Vista, etc. before counting them out entirely. I’d like to point out that all ships will have employees training. There isn’t one ship dedicated just to training employees. New trainees are sprinkled in throughout every Carnival ship, so just FYI. They learn from the seasoned staff that way. I’ve definitely noted the age of the Ecstasy, and the limited activities. It really depends on the age group sailing. My husband and I cruise together and we are less likely to use some of the amenties the bigger ships offer, but it will be a change from what we are used to from being on the newer Carnival ships for sure. As far as the Wi-Fi, we had a couple of hit or misses with it on the Sunshine, but otherwise, it was fairly consistent on all of our Carnival cruises thus far. Like you said, it could be older/smaller servers. I appreciate you mentioning the motion factor. I do always have motion rememdies at the ready on cruises, but the larger ships thus far have not been too bad with it. The size of the ship does matter with that so I’ve read. Booking in the lowest, most middle point is recommended when looking at cabins. Also, if you do book Carnival again (which I hope you give them another chance), make sure to check the deck plans before picking a cabin. They’ll tell you what’s above your potential cabin and what’s below, nearest elevator stations, and the like so you can kind of work through the best place to be for limited noise. They say having just cabins above you and below you cuts down on noise. Overall, we are still excited about our time on the Ecstasy, but aren’t expecting it to be like the larger Carnival ships. Ironically, the smaller ships (like the Ecstasy) tend to have the largest pools, believe it or not. If you look at the Carnival Breeze or Sunshine, they have more pools but the pools are even smaller than Ecstasy. Like, they’re tiny :) lol! Thanks again the “real” review. Sorry for the book of a comment!
