Forgot to mention Bonine for sea sickness. We did feel the boat on the Eastern Caribbean cruise. This worked great for my husband.

And children’s Dramamine for my daughter worked great as well.

Thank you for your awesome review!! I love going on cruises! I’ve actually never been on a royal Caribbean cruise. I’m hoping for my boyfriend and I to plan a vacation soon for my 30th birthday in January!

im glad to hear you recommend your room you were in. im sailing on this ship come September and our cabin is also on the 7th deck….(7306?) superior balcony as well. i was a little skeptical at first because i love being high up in the air but the higher decks were already full at the time we booked. but now i cant wait! thank you!!!

Awesome tips Kim! Royal Caribbean is a stellar line. I traveled on Splendor of the Seas from Baltimore to Bermuda and the staff was so friendly and accommodating! Glad you had a wonderful trip!

Ohmygosh this makes me want to choose a cruise for our honeymoon that much more! Eeeeek! I’ve cruised once with girlfriends (on royal!) and it was so much fun, so I think I’m partial to a cruise because I know how easy it is! Compared to traveling by ourselves and figuring out things to do when staying at a resort…..I’ll have to let you know what I decide!

I went on a Disney cruise about 10 years ago and had a blast. Hopefully I will go on another cruise and will use your suggestions ~~~Sandy

thanks for the tips! we are hoping to book our first cruise on the Allure for next June. I was wondering though (silly question coming), did people walk down the hallway to get to the rock climbing wall? thanks again.

Very helpful tips with clear explanations. Really enjoyed your video! Going on the Allure in December so I’m super excited after hearing you had a great time…because I’m picky too. Haha

If you don’t have kids or your kids are 16+, you can escape the major crowds on the pool deck by going to the solarium at the bow of the ship. Whirlpools, a small pool, and a cafe up there. It’s covered by glass, which also protects you from sunburn — spent most afternoons there this past July and didn’t even need sunscreen!

Definitely make reservations for the shows, especially on the larger Oasis-class ships. Shows tend to fill up quickly with 6500 people on board. The comedy club, especially — for a ship as large as Allure, it has a tiny comedy club.

Unless you drink like a fish, yes, you can skip the drink packages. I had 3-4 cocktails or beers per day and did not pay more than what I would have paid if I had a drink package.

WELL!!! My husband and I just booked our very first cruise YESTERDAY! I was thrilled when I saw this video pop up. So many helpful tips, many of them great no matter what cruiseline. 🙂 We are actually taking the WW cruise in November…I never really thought I was a cruise kinda girl, but I’m surprised that I am REALLY excited about this. And you just pumped me up even more. Awesome. Thank you! 🙂

Hi Kim, had trouble with the reply. Bermuda was awesome! My daughter and I went into Hamilton the capital, shopped and ate at the Hog Penny which had authentic British fare. We also took a horse and carriage ride around the island. I would recommend Horseshoe Bay on the beach. Beautiful coves and the sand has a pink cast to it and so pretty against the blue waters. Don’t miss the rum factory (rum cakes) and a trip to St George, Bermuda’s oldest town. Islanders very friendly! Would love to go back!

I’ve never been on a cruise.  I didn’t realize there was so many ‘packages’ you had to buy for so many amenities.  You didn’t mention the cost of those different packages.  We they reasonable or expensive?
